WCR FAQ's
Q: What are the ages for club team participation at Windy City Rampage FC?
A: We offer boys and girls from U7 (Birth year 2017) players to U19 (Birth year 2006) players the opportunity to participate in Windy City Rampage FC competitive league soccer. For players under 6 years of age, Windy City Rampage FC has our Jr. Rampage program to participate in. For players who are considering club participation but are lacking in skill or confidence on the field, we strongly recommend our highly rated Training Only Program. For more information, please refer to our Programs tab on our website.
Q: My child is out performing other players at AYSO, Park District, or YMCA Soccer. We feel he/she needs to be challenged more. Does that mean he/she is ready for travel soccer?
A: This is most likely the case. Rampage players entering our program, enter for similar reasons. Most of our players come from excelling in Recreational/Park District soccer at the younger ages.
Q: What is the time commitment for Windy City Rampage?
A: The time commitment for a player is typically 2 days/week @ 90 minutes for practices and then games (when in season) on weekends and sometimes during a weeknight. It is strongly suggested that players also commit to their skill sheets (player homework) daily - even if it's only 10 minutes/day, this will make a difference! The time commitment for a parent involves getting your player where they need to be on time.
Q: Windy City Rampage Travel Program seems costly. How is it different from Recreational Soccer?
A: Our travel teams play in competitive leagues in spring, fall and winter. We hold Practices in all four seasons- Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring. Teams practice twice a week (with the exception of Summer = 1x/wk) with a licensed professional soccer coach. The team coach invests time into player development, evaluates each player, and holds every player accountable for completing their assigned skill sheets (yes! we have homework here!) Teams participate in tournaments during Fall, Winter, and Spring. All our coaches on staff carry high licenses, have been through our Rampage Coach Development Program, and have been approved by our board of directors. Windy City Rampage FC employs a director of coaching specifically to recruit coaches and continuously develop and enhance the curriculum for our players.

Q: What is the Player Commitment Deposit?
The Player commitment deposit is $250 and is due at the time of Team Offer Acceptance before registration to secure your player's position with the team. The Player commitment deposit is non-refundable.
Q: Are there any additional fees to expect?
A: Besides each team getting one free tournament in the fall every year, some teams may elect to attend extra tournaments. These additional tournaments will carry additional cost associated with coaching and tournament entry fees – these costs are always discussed in advance of participation. Additional Tournament play is a team decision. Fees for these additional team tournaments are then divided amongst the team and paid by each member.
Uniforms are an additional expense. We typically use the same uniform for 2 years. The uniform kit cost is approximately $250. Uniforms come from Adidas and are ordered via www.soccer.com. You will receive a link that is player specific to order your player uniform. Adidas provides each family a heavy discount on the uniform.
Q: Do you provide financial assistance?
A: Financial assistance and payment plans are available. Payment plans are available through Sports Engine. Financial Aid is available through EOS (Equal Opportunity Soccer). Windy City Rampage FC does not grant 100% scholarships.
Q: Are parents required to volunteer?
A: Required is such a strong word. Rampage is a Family, and it takes a village to run everything smoothly. No- parents are not required to volunteer. However, Windy City Rampage does organize "Team Volunteer Weeks" in which parents from the team assigned to that week are encouraged to represent the team in volunteer efforts for the club. Each team will be assigned a maximum of 2 weeks throughout the Year.
Q: What about Fundraisers? Is my child expected to participate in a Club Fundraiser?
A: Windy City Rampage fundraises for various reasons- Currently, we are looking for a facility of our own to purchase and are fundraising for this. Players- this is not mandatory. Parents - this is not mandatory. There will always be a suggested minimum to raise. Rampage Family- We need all the help we can get. It is an honor when we see players help us fundraise for a permanent HOME for them to train in.
Q: Do you accept Sponsorships?
A: Windy City Rampage is always looking for sponsors and partnerships to further programming for the Club. If you represent a business that is looking for a marketing opportunity, or a partnership in growth, please contact Enrique Peguero | Cell: (815) 685-8691 | Email: rico@windycityrampage.com
Q: Is team placement ability based?
A: Yes, we place players on competitive teams based on their specific abilities for U8 and above for the best developmental improvement of each player. We have various levels of competitive teams.
Q: Is this a Naperville Park District program?
A: No, we are a competitive club that has won the Naperville's BEST award for Best Soccer Club - 2 years in a row (2022, 2023). We have a great working relationship with the Naperville Park District and have access to fields and turf fields in the Naperville area.
Q: How far do we really have to travel for games?
A: Most games at the younger ages are against teams in the local areas. However, based on age group, ability level, and seeding by the leagues, there may be an occasional game against a team requiring an hour or more drive. At the younger ages, this rarely occurs.
Q: When are games played?
A: Windy City Rampage FC plans ahead with scheduling of games, however the leagues set the schedules with games. This is out of our hands. Most games are on Saturday morning/afternoon or Sunday morning/afternoon. Some leagues schedule weeknight games (mostly for the older players). Windy City Rampage FC's home fields are located at All Saints Catholic Academy in Naperville and are used for all home games.
Note: We DO NOT have control over the times available for games at opponent’s fields. Our coaches do their absolute best to schedule games at a time that most players will be able to make.
Q: Do you provide any kind of feedback on my child’s performances?
A: Yes, the head coach will evaluate all the players/team throughout the season, each player will receive a written evaluation at the end of the Winter season. Head coaches are always available for feedback.
Q: My child has decided not to play. Can we have a refund of our fees?
A: Windy City Rampage FC fees are non-refundable.
Exceptions are limited to medical reasons confirmed by a physician.
Q: My child and I would like to get Windy City Rampage FC apparel, is that possible?
A: Yes! We have pop up stores throughout each season (check your email for notifications!). As well as our online merchandise stores through BoomerT's and Soccer.com- SHOP RAMPAGE GEAR
Q: I don't live in Naperville, but would like to play for Windy City Rampage FC. Is that OK?
A: Yes, Of course! Windy City Rampage FC is a melting-pot of players from all over the Chicagoland area. We have players travel over 45 minutes to get to our practices weekly.
Q: We would like our son/daughter to be placed on a team with a friend to help with transportation issues. Is that possible?
A: At Windy City Rampage FC, teams are formed by ability level and consequently we cannot honor or guarantee requests like these at the competitive level.
Q: When will our team practices be held?
A: Each year, teams begin practicing in our Summer season 1 day/week. In mid-August (after our Pre-SeasonCamp week) our Fall Season begins. Practice dates and times are set by the Coaching staff and approved by Director of Coaching.
Q: My child has a conflict with the practice date/time. What can be done about that?
A: Update your player availability as soon as you know you will not be able to attend and communicate with your team coach. Your Player will be able to make up a training session working on tactical or foot skills- These sessions are skill/technique building practices within our Training Only Program. These tactical Tuesday or Foot skill Friday additional sessions can be an alternative to practice. It is also possible to make up a session with a team of similar age and or ability. We ask that you request permission with the coach before attending. The team training session should be the priority.
Our expectation is that a family will arrange their activity schedule to include their soccer practice.
Q: What is the Training Only Player Program?
A: The Training Only Player Program is a beginner to intermediate level soccer program. All Training Only players get 90 minutes of training a week from the coaching staff as a compliment to playing recreational soccer. Windy City Rampage FC has built a curriculum with proven results especially for players looking to improve their skillset and confidence before joining a travel team. This program develops players who would like to join a travel team in the future and is a good way for parents/families to get an insight into travel soccer.
Q: What should my son/daughter wear/bring to tryouts?
A: Shin guards, cleats, soccer ball, high energy, a full water bottle, a positive attitude are all required for tryouts. (A smile is a bonus!)
Q: How are teams formed?
A: Teams are placed based on ability to give each player the best chance to develop and fill their potential.
Our coaching staff discusses each player and the best fit team wise for their development and enjoyment.
Q: Can players make a high-level team if they are coming from outside of Windy City Rampage FC?
A: Yes, every player is given a fair opportunity.
Q: My son/daughter has a conflict with the tryout schedule, what should we do?
A: The tryout period occurs during a busy period for everyone. If your child has a conflict that is more important than soccer tryouts, please contact us by emailing info@windycityrampage.com and let us know. We will work to schedule a supplemental tryout.
Q: What is required of me as a parent?
A: Your main task is to sit back, enjoy and support your child playing a sport they enjoy as a spectator. Besides the financial commitment, there is also getting your child to and from practices and games on time and providing a pressure-free atmosphere for their development.
Q: My child plays multiple sports. I am sure there will be conflicts. What do we do?
A: We encourage other sports participation if the players are enjoying other sports (several skills are sport transferable). We ask that you inform your coach of conflicts and treat the sports equally. There is a chance to make up training time as mentioned above. Preferences for starting games are usually awarded to players who attend all practices and sometimes used to reward players for exceptional effort exerted during practices.
Q: How many teams do Windy City Rampage FC field? How big are teams?
A: The number of teams per age level is dependent upon the number of players that attend tryouts as well as the number of players that register. The number of players on a team varies by age group. Leagues set maximum roster sizes. Windy City Rampage aims to roster teams with the chance for all players to play and develop in a positive environment. It is rare that Windy City Rampage fills a roster to the league maximum.
Q: When will I know if my child has made a team?
A: Our Coaching staff will offer places on teams to some players at tryouts. For some, the results of tryouts will be sent to you by the coaching staff within 36 hours after tryouts. EVERY player will receive a decision and communication from us. If you do not hear for any reason after 36 hours, please reach out to us by emailing info@windycityrampage.com to check on the status of your player's offer. A mandatory registration takes place after the tryout results are announced. Once an offer is received, players will have 24 hours to make a decision and submit their deposit to hold a spot on their team. **Reminder to please check your junk mail as sometimes player invites end up there.
Q: If I have a complaint or issue, what should I do?
A: Here at Windy City Rampage FC, we have a mandatory 24 hour rule after any game. We respectfully ask parents to wait 24 hours before contacting the coach to discuss events that may have happened at a previously played game. As in any sport, sometimes competitive games can be intense, as can opinions and interpretations of events. This 24 hour period is known as the "cooling off" period. We ask the same rule of our coaches. The first step is contact your child’s coach directly. If the issue cannot be resolved the next step is to contact the Director of Coaching (Alejandro Munoz) who will, if necessary, engage our Co-Club President (Enrique Peguero) and/or the Club Board Members.
Q: What is the procedure for player release?
A Release is an option. Player must be in good standing (tuition paid in full) with the club per league rules before a player card is released and a transfer request form is signed. For more information contact the Director of Operations.
Q: My child wear’s eyeglasses. What is acceptable during games?
A: Sport type glasses are acceptable. With fashion being so important, many sports glasses look like regular glasses. We highly recommend sticking a data sheet from the glasses manufacturer in your child’s bag in the event that a question on their suitability for sports is raised.
Q: Do you have an office?
A: While most of us work on the Pitch 90% of the time, we do have a Rampage Office!
