WCR Travel Program Overview
Our competitive travel program is a full year commitment. Travel teams play in competitive leagues against teams from other clubs 11 months out of the year. League play and flighting is determined based on the team's general skill level. Travel teams play both home and away games throughout the Fall and Spring seasons, approximately 10 games per season. The majority of away games are played in northern or southern Illinois, Indiana and Southern Wisconsin, (depending on league and flight). Teams also participate in tournaments and/or cup competitions throughout the year in multiple states.
CLUB/COACH COMMITMENT
Windy City Rampage FC commits to building player skill, perseverance and confidence on and off the field. Coaches will inform players and parents at the start of the season of the anticipated commitment for the team for that season including frequency of practices, tournaments, indoor schedule, etc. Coaches will attempt to schedule travel team practices at a convenient time with an attempt to minimize scheduling conflicts and notify parents ahead of time. The club will attempt to schedule travel home games (the club has no control over the scheduling of away games) consistently to minimize scheduling conflicts.
PLAYER COMMITMENT
While WCR supports multi-sport activities, each player selected to play on a WCR travel team has made a commitment to that travel team prior to his/her selection. That commitment consists of a pledge to attend all travel team games before participating in other activities during the seasonal year. Additionally, The player commits to WCR's Code of Conduct, which outlines player behavior on and off the field as a representation of WCR and themselves in contributing to a positive athletic environment.
PARENT COMMITMENTWe expect parents to take this commitment seriously as well by supporting their child 100% and encouraging them at practices, games, and to attend our fun events! Having supportive parents behind our players is critical to their success and enjoyment of the game. Here are some of the specific commitments/expectations we have of our parents:

Having supportive parents behind our players is critical to their success and enjoyment of the game. Here are some of the specific commitments/expectations we have of our parents:
- Open communication with the coaches is encouraged, please communicate openly with your coach if you have any concerns about your child. Please honor the 24-hour rule - waiting a full 24 hours after a game to discuss anything with your coach.
- Be Positive - Cheer for the team, encourage all of the players.
- Do Not Coach - Let the coaches make adjustments as they see the need. Many times the instructions from a spectator is exactly the opposite of the instruction given by the coach.
- Treat the officials with respect. If there is an issue that needs addressed with the officials, the coach or captain will do so.
- Leave the game on the field - When the game is over, no amount of comment, question, or discussion with the players, officials, or coaches can change the outcome.
- Keep the game fun! Winning is more fun than losing, but each player should enjoy playing because they LOVE the game!
